Overview
WEEKLY is an 18+ social hangout app that helps people create a profile, share weekly availability, discover compatible people nearby, send hangout requests, and chat with matches. This policy describes the data WEEKLY collects and how it is used.
This policy is based on the current app code and Supabase backend. WEEKLY does not currently use advertising identifiers, third-party ad SDKs, or a third-party analytics SDK.
Information you provide
- Authentication data from Apple or Google, including provider account identifiers and email address when provided by the provider.
- Profile data, including name, username, date of birth or birth year for age checks, city, coordinates (which may be precise when you use your current location), time zone, bio, optional social handles, and profile photos.
- Weekly availability and hangout details, including days, times, places, vibe, requests, matches, and plans.
- User content, including profile photos, activity labels, place tags, and chat messages, photos, and voice messages.
- Chat media, including images and voice messages sent to matched users.
- Safety data, including reports, block actions, report reasons, report details, and the reported context when provided.
Permissions and device data
Camera and photo library access are used when you add profile photos or send chat images. Microphone access is used for voice messages. Location access is used to help set your city and find nearby plan suggestions. You can decline location access and type a city manually.
If you enable push notifications, WEEKLY stores an Expo push token, device identifier, platform, and app version so notifications can be delivered and disabled when you sign out.
How WEEKLY uses information
- Create, authenticate, and secure your account.
- Show your profile and availability to potential matches.
- Match users, enable hangout requests, chats, plans, and notifications.
- Operate safety features such as reporting, blocking, and abuse review.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce WEEKLY policies.
Sharing and processors
Your profile and relevant availability may be shown to other WEEKLY users. Chat content is shown only according to the app permissions and matching rules in the product. Profile photo URLs are public links, so do not upload profile photos you want kept private.
WEEKLY uses Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and Edge Functions; Apple and Google for sign-in and platform services; Expo for push notification delivery; and Google Places through a server-side proxy for location search and nearby place suggestions.
WEEKLY does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising based on the current codebase.
Retention and deletion
Account, profile, hangout, chat, notification, and safety data is retained while the account is active unless deleted earlier by product behavior.
You can delete your account in Settings. Deleting your account removes your sign-in identity, cascades the database rows you own, and removes your stored profile and chat media.
Encrypted backups may retain copies of deleted data for a limited period before they expire on their normal rotation. WEEKLY may also retain records for longer where required by law or to resolve a safety or abuse investigation. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile in the app.
- Delete your account in Settings.
- Block or report users from supported profile and chat contexts.
- Turn off location, camera, photo, microphone, or notification permissions in device settings.
- Use Apple private relay email when supported by Sign in with Apple.
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information. You can reach WEEKLY for support, privacy questions, or to exercise your data rights at weeklysupport@gmail.com.
Children
WEEKLY is only for adults 18 and older. The app requires an age check during onboarding and is not intended for children or minors.
Security
WEEKLY uses Supabase authentication, row-level access controls, server-side functions, and private storage with signed URLs for sensitive media. No app or network service can be guaranteed completely secure.
